Time To Declutter!! Throwout Thursday is an extension of Tidy Tuesday. You can make things tidy by throwing them into cabinets, baskets closets etc but are those items bringing you joy?? Are they being used?? Being a hoarder is a real thing, and on many different levels.

Here are three signs you might be a hoarder:

1. You’re afraid of throwing away something that you might need in the future.

2. You hate waste.

3. You have sentimental attachments to lots of stuff.

I get it, these are all good reasons. However, with this logic, you will easily become one of those people you see on TV with Papers from 1985 stacked to the ceilings and like random boxes filled with gadgets and 7 birds flying around without cages.. Not to mention, how can items shoved in random closets and under beds even be used??

Today, take on the task of going through one space. Pull everything out of a cupboard and see if each item is useable. Whatever is not useable, or able to gift…recycle when you can and throw out the rest. I know waste feels terrible but when the time comes; sometimes you need to suck it up and chuck it out! All this excess space will clear your mind and home!

A huge thing I have learned over the years is NOT to buy cheap things. I am all about being frugal and practical but if you buy cheap things you use on a daily basis; they will break or get thrown to the back of a cabinet. Soon you will have 20 different cheap plate sets you found at the good will instead of one beautiful matching set that brings you joy. You get my drift? Save up for the nice stuff. Overall you will spend less money and leave less of a carbon footprint on the earth.

Trust me; I am no master and I too have these struggles. I am on this journey with you!!

Happy Decluttering!

Day 6- Wellness Wednesday!

Did you know that fruits have the highest vibration of any food on the planet!?? Fruit is not only our primal food but it is also the number one and most preferred form of fuel for our cells! All 100 trillion of your cells use carbon (a.k.a. sugar from a single monosaccharide like fructose) for energy !! Fruit is also the only food on the planet that does not require any insulin from the pancreas for digestion. It is the easiest to digest, has the highest vibration and is packed with nutrients and antioxidants! Next time you need a pick me up, grab a piece of fruit or whip up a fruit smoothie!!

Happy Wellness Wednesday! Today I am having a delightful celery juice while in the sauna and then a smoothie! Cheers to fruits, berries and melons!!

Day 5- Tidy Tuesday!!! Tidy home Tidy mind!

Creating a tidy home is a large part of feeling joy and ease on a daily basis. You may not realize it, but clutter weighs down the sub-conscious mind leaving you feel stressed, overwhelmed, and tired! Creating a space that is organized, simple and filled with items that bring you joy will significantly improve your physical and mental well being. When you take the time to go through your belongings and ask your self if each item sparks joy or has a very consistent and functional purpose. Only the items you love most should make the cut!

My husband and I read Marie Kondo’s book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up a few years ago and we have tried to use her methods in our daily life but we could definitely do more! The recent Netflix series to Marie Kondo’s work is inspiring the world to declutter their homes and create joy! Read her book and watch her show for more inspiration!

Here is a great blog that picks out some of the best organization tools from her book. Happy Tidying up!!

Day 3 - Easy Peasy Meditation So Breezy

1. Anyone can meditate. You’ve just gotta want it.

Like any practice, you have to want to do it. Like, not just because someone told you it was good; but really want it. Maybe it’s not meditation that you want but it’s the results.  Like no one wants to diet but we all want to be thin…. That counts too. I hear many people say, “I can’t meditate, I’ve tried but it just doesn’t work for me”.

I have good news: Meditating is much simpler than we make it out to be. If your breathing air, you can meditate.  Beginning a meditation practice requires only your slight willingness. Your desire to experience something new is all you need to get on a new path.

You must set the intention to begin your practice now. Say out loud to yourself: I am OPEN to meditation and I welcome a new practice into my life. This simple statement will begin to come integrated into your cellular belief system. 17 seconds is all it takes for a thought to become a belief!!! Eek!! 17 seconds!!! Be careful what you think! Truly anyone can meditate. If there’s a will, there is a way.

2. Set the mojo.

It’s great to create a space in your home that is quiet, uncluttered and serene. I strive to have a place without any electronics . This is just my personal preference, a calm environment can help a  busy mind but it is absolutely not necessary to have a dedicated space in order to meditate. You can meditate on a park bench, at your desk, in the bathtub, on the bus or even in a bathroom stall. A bathroom stall doesn’t really set the mood but you can still do it! Meditation can become a part of your daily routine and you can do it anytime, anywhere.

Many meditation teachers suggest that you create a sacred space to meditate in. Even if you have a small apartment, you can set up a meditation pillow and light a candle. Make your space feel all zen like.

3. You DO have time to meditate.

You have a minute to spare, for sure. Even the busiest of busy people spend time on social media, heck even reading this post right now.. if you give yourself a couple minutes a day to meditate, your day will move more fluidly, your mind more calm and time is literally created through the calm and organized nature you were able to instill in your body.  Plus, your coworkers, partner and children will thank you. One minute a day spent in stillness can change your life. Commit to one minute a day and use this practice to silence your mind and calm your energy.

The One-Minute Breath

For one minute follow this breathing technique:

Breathe in for 5 seconds

Hold your breath for 5 seconds

Release for 5 seconds

Hold for 5 seconds

Practice this breath pattern for one minute a day.

This is just one simple breath tactic, there are many.

4. Quiet does exist or so I’ve heard.  Here is what I do:

Meditation can be as simple as finding your pulse or placing energy anywhere on your physical body. For example focusing on your pulse or simply focusing on your left knee or whatever body part you fancy. This simple focal point improves your concentration and brings calm to even the most scattered mind.

Sit comfortably cross-legged on the floor.

Lightly close your eyes and focus on the space between your eyebrows (the third-eye point).

The mantra (repeated phrase) is Sat Nam (which means “truth identified”).

The hand position (mudra) is simple. Place the four fingers of your right hand on your left wrist and feel your pulse. The fingers are in a straight line, lightly pressed on the wrist so you can feel your pulse in each fingertip.

On each beat of your pulse, mentally hear the sound of Sat Nam.

This meditation can be done any time, anywhere and you can experience great benefits in just one minute. Practice it daily to develop your intuition and calm your mind.

Start with this simple mantra and this simple one minute practice. We will build together from here. Best of luck. I hope you find your happy quiet place.

If all else fails…

Day 2 - Surrender Saturday

Dear self-doubt. I don’t Have time for you anymore! Bye!! Surrender Saturday is Day 2 of 28 days to bliss.
Get rid of something that doesn’t serve you, that prohibits you from standing strong in your essence and being your most powerful self.

Today I get rid of Self Doubt and I embrace the FACT that

To surrender literally means to yield to the power, control, or possession of another upon compulsion or demand.

Today is the day to yeild or let go of what have been possessing you! You are not this body, you are not this thinking mind, you are infinite and limitless! Remember not all of the belief systems we carry are just ours. We aren’t just these shitty insecure and harsh humans. We are a byproduct of our cellular makeup.

Yes we all have a STORY, but our story isn’t just written by us and our experiences in THIS lifetime. Our story, belief system, and cellular makeup is derived from our ancestors and their experiences/belief systems. Your SELF thinks what your CELLS think. It is a symbiotic relationship. If you are embarking upon this journey of self love, change, curiosity and readiness to evolve and change; you are changing!

Give yourself permission to let go. Give yourself permission to heal. Give yourself permission to love. Simply because you are worthy! Break the chain to heal the lineage before you, yourself and the future consciousness to come!

Day 1 - Get Blissed with this recipe. So fresh and so fun fun.

Italian Chickpea Goodness

2 cans chick peas, drained

1 tbsp olive oil , (1/4 cup water)

1 medium onion , minced

4 cloves garlic , minced

1/4 cup red bell pepper , chopped

1 medium tomato , chopped

1 carrot , diced

1 tbsp dried parsley

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tbsp tomato paste

2 cups vegetable stock/broth

1 tsp sea salt

1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper if you like the spice.

Optional to add kale or spinach for people who like the green stuff.

Literally, put all that junk in a pot.

If you are fancy, sauté the carrots, onions and garlic in some coconut oil. Then throw everything in a pot. If you are super fancy, you put it in an instapot. If it’s in a instapot, you need 20 minutes tops on the soup setting. If it’s in a regular pot, honestly I have no idea. Possibly 30 minutes? You just want the veggies to be tender.

Step by step guide can be found here on my instagram.
