San - highest or best

Kalpa - A vow or a rule that we make/follow above all else to fulfill our highest purpose.

A sankalpa is something in which there is no doubt that it will be accomplished., because it is your highest purpose. This requires tilling the ground and fertilizing before planting the seed.

Vasana- Your inner coloring, a pull or stirring toward something. We act on this pull or stirring.

Karma - Action. Karma is actually is simply taking action. Many people view karma as the reaction.

Samskara - a groove or pattern. This groove or pattern is created by the inner pull (vasana) that you contain. In order to change your actions (samskara) you must change your vasana (this is your inner coloring)

This is where you ask yourself: “what lessons am I truly tired of learning?”

Sankalpa: Two different kinds up Sankalpa.

1. defined, measurable in the next 6-18 months. Something that is attainable.

2. quality that you are trying to cultivate. An example is “I feel self love every day.”

How to write a Sankalpa.

I CAN.

I WILL.

I MUST.

Begin to write a Defined Sankalpa. Something you can achieve in the next 6-18 months. This is something tangible, defined and measurable.

Example: I CAN MEDITATE, I WILL MEDITATE, I MUST MEDITATE.
